It's not impossible to be a wallflower

It's not impossible to be a wallflower Written By: Mireia Bustamante Social media tends to have this certain impression that bounces from one person to another. For example, what happens to one person may influence others to be exactly like them; if not,  it will persuade them to buy or get exactly what that person has. It's the influence of the media. The Perks of Being A Wallflower is one of the movies that gave me a good perspective on anti-socialism and showed me the sides of teenagers and how they are surrounded by many different people. One character in the movie, Charlie, was a very antisocial depressed teenager who did not have many friends going into high school until he met two people who then became very close to him. They called him a wallflower as he was happy with how he was with his personality and did not change for anybody, instead, \ he was accepted to be who he was. We See What We Say

We see what we say  Written By Mireia Bustamante  What is echo chambering?  In echo chambering, individuals surround themselves with information, opinions,  and ideas solely based on their adamant beliefs. In this environment, individuals are shielded from alternative points of view or diverse perspectives that can potentially challenge our existing beliefs.  Echo chambering is often used in social media algorithms, and many platforms like Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok in particular personalize content based on the users' interests. Past behaviors create a feedback loop where apps only show content based on previous searches, likes, and viewed media.  Echo chambers can reinforce common ground, but they also can contribute to the spread of misinformation and fake news. People are more likely to spread information contributing to their beliefs.  Where do we see it?  We see it all around us, first of all. For example, in a political discussio...

Social Media Fixer Upper Content

Social Media Fixer Upper Content  Highlighting the Coastal Conservation Association, from this past week, these are the ideas to help brighten up the content in terms of improvement. I have gathered these by looking at their social media.  App 1: In app 1, immediately going into what can be fixed, as a viewer, I would love to see more member benefits, and with the 250-character limit, the CCA can use those to briefly describe what is to be expected when joining. With bullet points, it provides enough information to a point where it is not overbearing and to clustered on the screen.  App 2: We love pictures of involvement, so let's see some more! With landscape-oriented photos only, high quality of course; pictures of events, group involvement, newly joined members, rewards from tournaments, tournament preparation, and more, will surely grab a viewer's attention, and when clicking on the photo, it will bring you to app five where it shares online videos to grasp the ...

Comfortability within the environment around you

Comfortability within the environment around you As a student, getting an education and developing within a community, I have noticed things that public school education has taught me over the past 18 years of my life.  I have looked and learned from those around me, especially recently, during my previous four years, specifically in a high school that wasn’t in the best scheme, the students there were either very carefree or were top of our class, it was kind of hard to meet in the middle.             During one of my English classes, it was the first prompt I received for an essay I was required to do. Previously, I had struggled with my grades and whatnot, but as time went on, I began to take everything much more seriously, I wanted to step up my game so you could say. It was my senior year and I wanted to make sure I had everything perfect, and as time went on, I realized I needed to make mistakes to grow and educationally...
