Comfortability within the environment around you

Comfortability within the environment around you

As
a student, getting an education and developing within a community, I have noticed things that public school education has taught me over the past 18 years of my life.  I have looked and learned from those around me, especially recently, during my previous four years, specifically in a high school that wasn’t in the best scheme, the students there were either very carefree or were top of our class, it was kind of hard to meet in the middle.

During one of my English classes, it was the first prompt I received for an essay I was required to do. Previously, I had struggled with my grades and whatnot, but as time went on, I began to take everything much more seriously, I wanted to step up my game so you could say. It was my senior year and I wanted to make sure I had everything perfect, and as time went on, I realized I needed to make mistakes to grow and educationally challenge myself to be better.

Reading into some of the articles I had read on journalism and media, one of them in specific talks about how perfectionism is a jerk, and it totally is! A great takeaway I took from that blog post was that perfectionism is never perfect, there will always be an issue regarding something a content creator is working on if they immediately strive for perfectivity. let's go off-topic for a second. Striving for perfectionism is obviously not just from a business or educational standpoint, it goes for athletics too. I play golf and there have been moments in my time where I have struggled to maintain a good balance, I’d procrastinate on practicing and expect to be perfect during tournaments, but then I realized and go back to the root of it all. I had to learn how to get out of my comfort zone to get better, mentally and physically. Going back to the reading, it made me realize once again, that it is perfectly okay to step out of your comfort zone and make a mistake in order to get better and more comfortable in the environment you’re in.

Mistakes are a normal part of being a content creator, employer, student, or teacher, i.e. and striving for perfectionism can be draining, especially if you're too afraid to start a project because you’re afraid of the outcome. Don’t hold back! When reading A new free coloring page and some inner thoughts on the whispers of the inner critic, I read about how people can procrastinate on tasks if they don’t know how to even start them. A good tip I read from this blog post talked about starting from the beginning, meaning that making a list of everything that made you feel confident as a creator when you were striving for perfectionism, can help you when you’re struggling to build a good base when you're procrastinating.

Not only is it important for you and I to grow from our mistakes, but it is also important for the people who help mentor you to navigate and guide you along the right path for content creation. Reading into What Star Wars can teach you about talent management, letting go helps people grow. This is in the context of creation. When I read that, it helps me get a better understanding of mistakes. In a big work environment, you're surrounded by colleagues, and the organization for which you work is supposed to help you grow. As for building content creation within a community, for creating these stories, a key part would be having professional help, peer help is good for building a solid story.

As for when the story is ready to be presented. I learned about the Three More Questions through Seth’s Blogs which help during something practical. Three main questions need to be considered: "What happens?” “How will that work?” And “why?” it is important to know your approach when presenting content to big names. These questions are great to be considered. If presenting to a big CEO or an entrepreneur, I’d consider these questions. Being bold, definitive, and dramatic in a presentation will help confidence when proposing a thoughtful presentation. I gathered that using visuals helps people understand the conversation that is occurring. Using comparisons and making your point come across clearly will help gain attention to what you're going over.
